The topic tags match the guide's sections, so the archive also shows what we have already covered in detail and where there is little so far.

Every line in the archive leads to a live page. We keep no placeholders or promises for the future here, only what can already be read. If an entry is on the list, the page is ready and opens.

An entry is added to the archive only after the page has been published and opens. The date shows the day it was prepared, and the tag shows the main topic: privacy, formats, rights or storage. The tags match the feed of new publications, so filtering by topic works the same way in both places. Addresses from the former site were not carried over to the archive, except for four that external links still point to: our own notes now live at those addresses. If a page is significantly updated, the date in its entry changes.

Old addresses on this domain

A different website used to run on this domain. Picsafe is not connected with it and does not restore any of its content. External links still point to four old addresses, so we have placed our own notes on handling images there: on the GIF format, on choosing a format, on metadata and on rights to other people's images. All four pages have been written from scratch, exist only in Russian and contain no files from the former site. Its other addresses were not carried over.
